The Storm Sister - Lucinda Riley

The second book in the Seven Sisters series, and I absolutely loved it! This novel focuses on Ally D'Apliése, who is a champion yacht sailer. The book begins, as the first one did, with the death of Pa Salt and the reunion of all the sisters at Atlantis, their lavish family home in Switzerland.

When her father died, Ally was on a romantic retreat with her dream man and sailing teammate, and anticipating her upcoming yacht race - one of the most dangerous in the world. She feels awful when she realises she had turned her phone off and missed the news. When the sisters are presented with the clues Pa Salt has left for them to discover their past, Ally is reluctant to pursue her clue at first.

After a personal tragedy, Ally decides to finally take the plunge and delve into the mystery that her adoptive father left for her to uncover. She travels to the beautiful landscape of Norway and is swept up in the story of Anna Landvik, an unknown singer who lived over 100 years earlier and is somehow linked to Ally's own life.

The novel jumps back through time to tell the story of Anna and her involvement in the first performance of the music of Grieg and Ibsen's play 'Peer Gynt'. Ally becomes spellbound discovering the story of these people who lived over a century ago and are somehow intertwined with her now - and her 21st century connections to Norway emerge too.

This is a beautiful novel and equally as thrilling as the first - I can't wait to continue with the series!
